Excited To Begin My Own Hypnobirthing Journey Again

PICTURE

Myself and my husband found out we are expecting a baby in June 2018, we are pleased to announce that our baby is doing well, and the pregnancy is thriving. We couldn’t be more excited to start our Hypnobirthing journey again, as the birth of our little girl in 2017 was just beautiful.

Lots of people don’t know what Hypnobirthing is or what it involves. In fact, for many people they believe its being hypnotised while you give birth which could not be further from the truth.

Hypnobirthing is an umbrella term used to describe a whole birthing programme. A programme designed for mum and birth partner to enable them to develop some useful techniques and tools that can help them to feel calm, relaxed and in control. These techniques can be used during pregnancy, birth and after birth. These tools and techniques are for life and that means they can be used for subsequent pregnancies too.

So what is involved?

The course is delivered over a four week period. Some of the topics that are covered include; the anatomy and physiology of the body and how it works during birth, the power of relaxation and how it can be applied during birth, birth planning, preparation both practically and emotionally plus much more.

What’s beautiful to see is mum and birth partners working together and birth partner being given a role. For a lot of women birth partner is usually dad. Often dads feel at a loss when mum is in labor not knowing where to put themselves, how to help or what to do or say. The Hypnobirthing course ensures dad knows exactly what to do and how to support mum beautifully. I can say hand on my heart that my husband was amazing during my last birth and he cant wait to do it all again.

I am 20 weeks now, this is a lovely time to start practicing techniques, to watch the course Hypnobirthing videos and to practice lots of pregnancy relaxation. What really stood out for me with the Hypnobirthing course was just how important relaxation is for baby. What mum feels, baby feels too, so I know that when I am practicing my relaxation, my baby feels that too.

I have decided to vlog my Hypnobirthing journey to show people just how wonderful the course is what it involves, I am hoping this will encourage other pregnant mummies to choose a hypnobirth also. The fact that I now teach the course is proof of just how amazing these techniques can be. I love working with pregnant mummies, it’s so rewarding to see ladies going from an anxious state to feeling calm and confident about birth.
